About Me

Biography

I was born in Mashad in May 1980.

After finishing my school, I and my family went to "Bandar Jask" which is located at the south of Iran in Hormozgan province. I completed my guidance school there and came back to the place of birth to finish my high school. I was interested in Physics, Mathematics and Computers when I was studying high school.

I was accepted for B.Sc. in Statistics at the Ferdowsi University of Mashhad in 1998. At the beginning, I was uncertain to continue statistics, but Ali Reza Fotouhi's brilliant ideas in applied statistics changed my mind and made statistics the most interesting field for research and study to me.

After getting top ranks in Acturial Statistics, Biostatistics and Mathematical Statistics in national master enterance exam, I decided to continue my study in Mathematical Statistics at the place where I did my bachelor.

I continued my career as assistant and Ph.D. student of Anthony Davison to make my dreams come true and enter into professional statistical community. I finished my Ph.D. in July 2009 and joined McGill's Department of Statistics as postdoctoral fellow.
